Pygmys
I wanted a jungle people, beset by outsiders, who has decided that the outside world is bad, and defends their home aggressively, using hit and fade guerilla tactics.
Why did I go with pygmys? I don't really know, but they felt right, sneaking in the underbrush with blowpipes.
Their religion reflects the sneakiness and the venom of their darts. It also just felt right.
