Kai'ono
The inspiration here is clear, Pacific islands and Maori. I had a god pantheon which I had no planned place for, but which I felt fit well with the Kai'ono, so I matched them up, and I liked the result.
I like them as basically friendly, but they will not bend to threats, and are fearsome warriors if needed.
