Tinkerer Nera
Nera is yet another result of "We can't just dump her off after saving her."
The solution was to make her possible as crew, and I thought a curious inventor type would be a good addition, and a good balance to Galenor.
At first, I planned to have her come up with good inventions which is not known in the game world, maybe a small steam engine, a crossbow, turning fireworks into a gun and so on, and have the rest of the crew turn them down because "too complicated to be practical", "too slow", "too dangerous to use" and so on, but a dropped that plan. It would make her too much comic relief, and there is always the risk that the players wouldn't play along and start an industrial revolution instead. Perhaps it could have worked, I don't know.
