Golems
Golems are "smart idiots". They do exactly what you tell them, no matter how stupid. Since they have no will of their own, they are surprisingly accepted, even if most people feel a certain unease around them.
I still feel that they should be used sparingly, to not dilute the shock value of meeting one, and to preserve the feeling that they are valuable assets.
