Mentalists
Telepathy in its various forms has always been problematic in roleplaying games. They just provide too many shortcuts. "I'll read the minds of the suspects to find the killer", "I'll mindcontrol the boss into surrendering" and so on. So, something needed to be done.
What I did was to make the flow go both ways. The mentalist will pick up some of the personality of the victim, and the victim will get some information from the mentalist. It is a taxing process where they might lose their selves, their very identity.
Entering the mind of another is a violation. To put it bluntly, mentalists are the rapists of the mind.
Sure, there are a few good ones, people who help treat mental illness and so on, but even they, even if they start out good, will eventually pick up the madness. It's a path that always leads downhill.
