Author's Notes
Primas
Primas are the "erotic vampires" of myth. Heavily inspired by the Grigori trilogy by Storm Constantine. Ancient beings of wisdom and power. While they need some blood to sustain themselves, it's more of a symbiotic relationship, and deeply intimate for both parties.
Where Constantine make them out to be almost god-like, I plucked them down a few notches, but they are still beings of formidable power.
They form one part in the three-way war between primas, vampires and carnees, and are, for most parts, the good guys there.
But, for all their good, they must still live in the shadows, as, to people in general, they are blood suckers who should be killed.
I like their dual nature. Philosophical, wise, calm, yet powerful. They plan for the long haul, and take few risks, but their secrecy is vital.
If you like books with a rich language, books which simply cannot be skimmed quickly, with a gothic feel, give Storm Constantine a try. If there ever was a modern successor to Poe, she was the one.
