Boons
Look closely at baboons. They are scary. Like a demon-dog-monkey hybrid.
Now imagine them human sized, at stone age level. Not less scary.
Imagine them chasing you, driven into a kill frenzy by war drums. They don't care for their own safety, they just want to rip you apart, and they are hunting you, and they won't stop.
You are in the middle of the jungle. The jungle is huge and it's their turf.
Scared?
Well, that's the basic concept of the boons.
