Mire of Vines
This one started out as an image experiment. I did images for merfolk, and suddenly, the thought hit me: What if I make images based on freshwater fish, such as pike or bass? I did some experiments, and realized that it worked really good, a more grounded version of their saltwater counterparts.
To match the looks, I placed them in a jungle marsh, where they can sneak and hunt.
From there, things just took on a life of their own, and I went with it.
